My hourly fee for therapy is $150/session after an initial intake fee of $175. I do provide free 30 minute consultations upon request.
Fees for other services vary depending on request. Please reach out for details. You are entitled to a good faith estimate.
Under the No Surprises Act, you are entitled to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining the cost of mental health care services. A Good Faith Estimate provides clear, upfront details about the expected fees for services to help you make informed financial decisions.
The estimate outlines:
Who is entitled to a GFE?
The GFE is an estimate; actual costs may vary based on changes to your treatment plan or additional services requested. You have the right to ask questions and discuss the GFE with your provider. I am committed to providing transparent pricing and ensuring that you fully understand the cost of your care.
Choosing to accept insurance can be a difficult decision for therapists. We are helpers by nature and believe in the power of this work, however when insurance companies get involved the services we can offer become severely limited and subject to audits, infringing on your confidentiality and narrowing the scope of treatment to what the company deems is most appropriate which may not be what is most effective for you.
I currently accept Aetna insurance and private pay clients. I can provide super bills to submit for insurance reimbursement as well as sliding scale fees for eligible clients.
Neurodivergent individuals often encounter significant barriers in traditional therapy settings, leading to feelings of misunderstanding, invalidation, and even gaslighting by providers. Many therapy modalities and clinical training programs are built on neurotypical frameworks, which can fail to consider the unique needs, communication styles, and lived experiences of neurodivergent clients. For example, rigid adherence to cognitive-behavioral models may overlook sensory processing differences, difficulties with executive functioning, or the nuanced ways in which neurodivergent individuals navigate relationships and emotions. Additionally, neurodivergent clients may feel dismissed or pathologized when providers misinterpret their behaviors, such as stimming, flat affect, or atypical social responses, as signs of deeper dysfunction rather than natural expressions of their neurodivergence.
These misattunements can lead to clients feeling unheard and judged when their experiences are reframed by therapists in ways that dismiss their validity. For instance, providers may unintentionally impose neurotypical norms, such as expecting a client to communicate feelings verbally or to regulate emotions in specific, predefined ways, further alienating neurodivergent individuals who process and express themselves differently.
Using Therapeutic Rapport as a Primary Intervention
Recognizing these systemic issues, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship as a foundational intervention. My approach is inherently collaborative, inviting clients to share what works for them and adapting therapy to align with their unique needs. Client feedback and collaboration are central to this process. I frequently check in with clients to ensure interventions resonate with their goals and lived experiences, making adjustments as needed. This approach not only enhances therapeutic outcomes but also empowers clients to take an active role in their healing journey, fostering a sense of agency that is often missing in traditional therapy settings. By centering the client-therapist alliance and embracing flexibility, I strive to create a therapeutic space where neurodivergent individuals feel truly understood and supported.
I work with adolescents and adults. I do not generally work with clients below the age of 15, however I have plenty of great referrals!
My experience in jail and residential settings makes me particularly effective with teens who "hate" therapy and think adults generally know nothing.
Sorry about that! Its just me, myself, and I. I try my best to get back to people as soon as I can, sometimes things slip through the cracks. Please feel free to reach out again!
